The 8th September is UNESCO’s International Literacy Day. This year’s focus is on the link between literacy and peace, an important priority for IBBY too.

  1. We celebrated overnight with a Teddy bear’s sleepover at the library.
Today we shared a Teddy storytime and then took 85 teddies and assorted soft toys back to our local primary school. This morning I made a powerpoint of the several activites the teddies undertook at the library including a picnic, music time, dress ups and bedtime stories.
With all the kindergarten classes (4) assembled in the school library we viewed the photos – talked about having fun in the library and read “Two bad teddies” by Kilmeny Niland. The teddies make peace with new toy Bendy Bill.
